What I liked
Despite playing an unhinged man in a tactical vest, Andrew guides us through the absurdity of this piece with so much gentleness, making it safe and exciting to participate in the audience interactive moments. He deftly walks the tight rope of playfulness and catharsis without ever slipping into preachiness.
What I didn't like
I wanted the fight scene to go on for another ten minutes… but alas he honored his 55 minute run time.
My overall impression
Andrew Knox is the best in the biz! This show is incredibly crafted with a constant attack of fast paced, well-written jokes and a high energy performance that explores the relationship of emotions and masculinity. And whether you’re an actual straight man or just role playing as one in the audience, the themes are relatable to all. Plus, there’s original songs and wonderful sound design that makes it clear Andrew and the team put so much thought into ALL of the details.
