What I liked

The character transitions were meticulous and sharp. I truly saw two distinct characters on stage. The use of the space was well explored. The bit with the giant teddy bear was full of fun and dark humor. An accurate metaphor for how dating and romance can sometimes be.

What I didn't like

An idea that I offer is perhaps you can ask audience members to write down a question pertaining to real life dating advice prior to the start of the show and then throughout the actual show there could be a bit where Kara reads some of them off. This may fall into some improvisation as you wouldn’t know ahead of time what audience members will write but food for thought.

My overall impression

This solo show is entertaining and a lot of FUN. The colors, the lighting, the set-up of the stage really enhance the world of the storytelling. I was captivated by the sharp and incredible switch of the two characters; Kara and Russ. The music is energetic and compliments the intensity of Kara. I was left feeling warm and hopeful in regard to the topics of self-care and empowerment as the show offers the question – what is it that truly matters in a dating world? You. Self-love.
