I really enjoyed the chemistry between Campbell Angelique and Alikhan Lochin. Campbell, in particular, brought warmth, charm, and personality to Alberta, making her much more than a typical “robot” character. What I appreciated most was how the show explored our very human desire to be understood and connected. In an era where AI is becoming increasingly woven into our daily lives, Alberta Alberta! asks timely questions about loneliness, depression, and what happens when technology begins filling emotional spaces once occupied by other people. It thoughtfully examines why someone who feels isolated might seek comfort in an artificial companion and how our need for connection can shape the relationships we choose.

My overall impression
I had a really good time with Alberta Alberta! Beyond its entertaining performances and intriguing premise, the show left me reflecting on the ways modern life affects our mental and emotional well-being. As conversations around AI continue to evolve, the play offers an accessible and compassionate look at the universal need to feel seen, valued, and less alone. It’s an original Fringe piece that feels both relevant and human, and I found myself thinking about its ideas long after the performance ended.
