The play was intriguing, funny, and unexpectedly layered. Beneath the debacle lies a thoughtful exploration of control, identity, and the hilarity of human flaws.
Incredible how Josh Bennett transitioned into several unique characters and still kept up with the momentum of every scene change!
What I didn't like
Loved every minute of it! Looking forward to more productions and storytelling by Soup Kitchen.
My overall impression
Cirque Lunaire: A Puppet Debacle! What a wild and memorable play- Soup Kitchen’s show is such an audacious dark comedy that uses puppetry not as a quirky accessory but as the beating heart of its storytelling.
The production leans into chaos with confidence. Puppets misbehave, plotlines twist themselves into knots. Josh, Peter and cast embraced the strange, pushed the boundaries, and let the puppets say the things humans won’t.
Soup Kitchen’s aesthetic is inventive, and refreshingly unafraid of risk.
