What I liked
The juxtaposition of the puppets, each with a design style, makes it feel like an actual freak show. The second act is delivers on a parade of visceral body and psycho horror thanks to some clever effects work and a willingness to go for it; no trepidation here.
What I didn't like
First act is a little setup heavy, but it’s there to let the second act rip.
My overall impression
Earns the word “grotesque” in the best way. Insane puppet craft. Slowly transforms into a violent fever dream. A mad vision, realized.
