I loved the creativity and variety of puppetry featured. The stage picture was always engaging and I loved that the piece wasn’t afraid to dabble in darker themes (so much puppet murder!)
What I didn't like
While the dialogue was fun and witty, it was also verbose. And as a viewer with poor hearing, I found it hard to follow along without the use of mics. Stage mics or mics for the actors would be wonderful!
My overall impression
I am an absolute sucker for puppets and was taken in from the beginning of Cirque Lunaire. It was chaotic, vulgar and dark in the best ways and reminded me of Peter Jackson’s ‘Meet the Feebles.’
