Aside from being insanely funny, I thought the themes were very relatable: aging, fear of becoming irrelevant, and feeling artistically stymied by capitalism. Also the costumes were outstanding, and the music actually made me want to dance along with the performers. There was a moment where members of the audience were asked to come up on stage, which usually makes me cringe, but we were in such good hands with the performers that it was so easy to “yes and” it. The whole performance had everyone roaring with laughter the whole time—I’m serious!
What I didn't like
Honestly can’t think of anything. I personally may have preferred to know more about Farrah’s background, the “human inside the cockroach” as it were because I think her monologue would have an even bigger payoff at the end. But that could be just me!
My overall impression
This was one of the most original shows I’ve ever seen in Fringe. Hilarious body horror. The writing was tight, the acting was hysterical, and the music and performers made it so easy to engage as an audience.
