What I liked

The fitness class structure was so fun, and the choreography was perfection. The audience participation a really nice touch too! I loved the tone and the campiness, and especially the moments where the characters need validation. The music and set/props were fun and got me into the fitness headspace! Loved the millennial references in there as well. A lot of well-earned laughs in the script and performance. And of course the costume is a true work of art. The moment of validation needed from Tristan was certainly a stand-out beat for me!

What I didn't like

The transformation didn’t pack quite the punch I was hoping for. I loved the actual transformation sequence, that was super fun and produced well, but I think the story points that get us to that point and the reaction to it were a little muddled. I think this kind of story can be super on the nose about the the motivation for the transformation. The conclusion wrapped it up well, but it felt like it was missing a beat- almost like this was the end of act one and act two would be about understanding what this transformation actually looks like.

My overall impression

Morpho was such a romp! It’s silly and relatable (yuck) and really quite charming. You can tell the cast is having a blast, their performances were over the top in the best way. I would highly recommend this to anyone, it’s accessible and not trying too hard to be funny and therefore very funny. And the costumes! You won’t want to miss this transformation.
