About the Project

Where Is My Wife? is a bold, hilarious, and unfiltered one-woman comedy show from Dr. Seema Yasmin—an Emmy-winning journalist, former CNN reporter, disease detective, author, clown, and comedian who has mastered nine careers but somehow missed the wife orientation.

In this fast-paced, laugh-out-loud hour, Seema takes audiences on a journey through ambition, desire, immigration, lineage, and modern love, asking the question at the center of her life: how can someone so accomplished be so spectacularly bad at finding a partner? Equal parts stand-up, storytelling, and joyful chaos, Where Is My Wife? blends razor-sharp observations with playful audience participation and moments of surprising tenderness.

As a queer Muslim immigrant raised to believe that hard work always guarantees success, Seema confronts the inconvenient truth that love doesn’t follow a meritocracy. Along the way, she skewers career hustle culture, American healthcare, dating apps, immigrant expectations, and the fantasy of the “Malibu Power Lesbian”—the emotionally literate, financially stable, spiritually grounded dream partner who may or may not own beachfront property.

Threaded through the comedy is the presence of Seema’s ancestors: generations of women whose lives were constrained, whose dreams were deferred, and whose unfinished ambitions now echo in her relentless drive. Seema wrestles with what it means to have too many doors open, to want more without apology, and to carry both freedom and longing at the same time.

Unapologetically funny, delightfully filthy, and deeply human, Where Is My Wife? is a show for anyone who has ever been ambitious, overwhelmed, single, partnered, or told they should be grateful for what they already have. It’s about love, lineage, and learning to laugh at the beautiful mess of trying to build a life—and a future—that’s big enough to hold all of who you are.
