What I liked
I loved the characters and props to Seemah playing the mom in the back for her absolute dedication to a simple but difficult role. Clara did an amazing job playing intricate emotion and you could see the complexity in her facial expressions.
What I didn't like
This play has so much potential. The setup of the mouse is cute, but being in a car the entire time makes it hard for the leads to physically connect – eye contact is hard, though you do feel the relationship is real so achieving that despite the limitations of the set is a real win! I could see this expanding and getting to experience the transformation Alice’s carpool confession brings to her life and relationships!
My overall impression
What a lovely play that is so packed with genuine emotion and very present actors. This play is an excellent example of why we need to champion mature artists and writing in Hollywood. Writing was great and I want to see more from this playwright.
