I kept LOSING it every time Peter Jackson’s shorts started to fall down and then he’d pull them back and there would be SO much room in them like I can’t express enough how funny this was and how much I think I wasn’t supposed to focus on it but…nonetheless. So fun to see what people came up with in the moment and the technology was awesome too!
What I didn't like
On occasion it would be difficult to hear, just because there are so many people (so very understandable). And due to this being in the round (or half round more so?), if you sit on the sides you occasionally can’t see faces or the front of the actors. Understandable though!! Don’t let that hold you back OBVIOUSLY because this is so so so funny and you won’t regret it, even if you know NOTHING about LOTR.
My overall impression
Fun and unpredictable, and I assume pretty accurate to the movie (I have seen the first one once and I don’t remember it). A lot of precision and planned beats to hit, but also somehow totally organic and in the moment. Contained chaos is the best words for it.
