The Blood They Shed

WOW! What a talented young man. He has the charisma that few performers have. This is the top play I have ever attended, deeper and more moving than any performance at the Mark Taper or any show on Broadway. From the beginning of his performance to the finale, there was a huge range of emotions: joy to deep sadness which brought tears. It is a power packed, nonstop performance which is mind blowing for a 1 man show. The hour that I was there has impacted my life with a new understanding of the modern day youth experience. What an emotional ride. Being a strong, alpha male, the emotions I felt were deep and conviction. It takes a lot to stir me from moments of laughter to tears. This is one of the best plays I have seen in the festival and can't recommend it enough. Aaron White's performance is heartfelt, honest and entertaining; the honesty in his storytelling bursting out throughout the play. His takes on some of the important issues in the african-american community and its juxtaposition with historical content make this an engaging production.
