Every piece of this show is so clearly cared over. You can feel the intention in every detail, and that kind of love for the work is impossible to fake. It’s also just an absolutely fun time. I was laughing throughout and near tears by the end, which is the best possible combination. The line Sadie straddles between comedy and heartbreak is truly masterful. The staging is boldly, beautifully theatrical in a way that anthropomorphizes the mania and delusion of love and heartbreak itself. I haven’t stopped thinking about it!
What I didn't like
Truly nothing, all I want is more of it! This team is so impressive – a must see!!!
My overall impression
Sadie wrote, directed, and starred – and excelled at all three simultaneously. As a performer she is funny and endearing and heartbreaking all at once, sometimes within the same breath. You cannot take your eyes off her.
The ensemble works like a machine – the kind of precision and trust between performers that takes real work to build and is immediately visible when it’s there. And the staging is genuinely beautiful. I was so moved by this production: the comedy, the vulnerability, the acting, and the clear and specific vision behind it all.
