Finally, a production that integrates technology in a deeply meaningful way! There’s no multimedia for the sake of multimedia here, but a heightened production value layered into an exquisitely written script brought to life by Mike Cabellon, whose effortless present-ness is foiled beautifully by the punchy vivacity of Alyssa Limperis. The chemistry is palpable and the actors top tier. I laughed. I cried. I was moved to my feet in applause, and contrary to Fringe culture, I don’t do that. Like ever.
What I didn't like
My only note is that the projection wasn’t exactly squared up with the screen, and I yearned for more quiet moments between our lovers. But dang; what a ride!
My overall impression
What’s criminal about CELL: A Duologue, is that it doesn’t come with a pint of ice cream for after it destroys you. It’s so good that I’m mad about it. Get your tix now; this sleeper is gonna blow up! Best of HFF26!
