About the Project

Moyamoya Baby: A Trilogy of Strokes, Blood Flow, and F*ckboys, is the culminating solo show inspired by personal experience managing moyamoya disease, a rare cerebrovascular disorder.

Part medical miracle, part dating disaster, and 100% reclamation, Moyamoya Baby is the “re-debut” of multi-hyphenate artist Nilsa Reyna. From the sudden silence of a stroke (Stroke Vagina, a Moyamoya Story), to a life-altering brain bypass at Stanford (The Bride of Moyamoya), Nilsa navigates the plasticity of a brain and the only way forward (Moyamoyapause and Me, or How Collecting F*ckboys Made it All Okay?).

LATE SEATING IS PERMITTED BUT BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS THE SHOW! ALLOW AT LEAST 30 MINUTES FOR PARKING. Parking can be found in the surrounding residential area and meters on the main street. Double check parking signs.

VENUE: The Broadwater Second Stage, (6320 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038)

Moyamoya Baby acknowledges that we are on the unceded lands of the Gabrielino/Tongva and Chumash peoples. Our statement serves as a practice, as we commit to furthering our connection to the Indigenous communities past, present, and emerging.
