What I liked

I went in totally blind to what the show would be, and I think expected Thai to ‘embody’ her grandmothers. What happened instead, and what I really liked, was part presentation and part performance, like a sort of TED talk driven by authentic emotion and an unbelievably real story. I was emotionally engaged almost immediately, and by the end I had both learned things and my heart was in happy tatters. The length of the show is also perfect for Fringe (and as a way to test the concept).

What I didn't like

The show is still being developed into a longer form, which we learned at the end of the performance, and which makes sense given that I think we all wanted to be there with Thai longer!

My overall impression

A really beautiful and educational demonstration of how kindness prevails. Thai is a charismatic and engaging performer and presenter, and I look forward to seeing a longer version in the future.
