Some of the fastest 30 minutes ever! I didn’t want the show to end and by the end I wanted to know Vivi’s entire familial history and how her grandmothers made a life for themselves and their multiple children in this new place! I’m so beyond excited she is planning to extend this into a longer piece and will definitely be attending myself. It was extra special to be in the show with a marine who was in Saigon at just 18 years old and to hear his experience of the exact things Vivi was telling us her grandmothers and aunt and uncle’s went through. This short show forever changed my understanding of the war and its consequences. Thank you for showing us a glimpse into what this time was like!...

This show knocked my socks off! I can't stop thinking about it almost a week later. Vivi is a master storyteller whose words and their order are poetic and powerful - transmuting truths into the depths of my heart. There were so many elements of this show that I loved, but here some that stood out to me... Vivi's performance and use of physicality and staging to transport the audience to a different time and place, the props and visuals, the education I received, the inventiveness of how she wove everything together. I can't wait to see the expanded version of this show! ...

A concise, 30-minute play detailing the resilience of leaving a war-torn Vietnam, Vivi Thai does a great job in presenting her deeply personal story, allowing use to feel through by images and documents, personal accounts. Vivid stories and images that remind us of the horrors of war. Important, intimate, and lessons that will stay with us long after the show ends. I know Vivi will continually work on this and I can't wait to see how it will develop....

It was a beautiful and heartfelt story that pulled me immediately in. Just enough war context to lay the field, but what really got my heart was the time and transition between each story part, the emotions and care Vivi took to really help us understand the emotional journey of her family was incredibly touching. I was in tears!...

Damn. Get ready to have a knot in your stomach. If you are familiar with this shameful chapter of American history (you should be) then you know where this story is going. If you are not familiar with this shameful chapter of American history (you should be) then you will still be equally appalled, horrified but ultimately full of hope at the end of this life affirming story. Terrfic work from a talent to watch! ...
