What I liked

Some of my favorite numbers were, the conspiracy number, the funeral number and the crossroads number. I also liked how each cast member got their moment to shine. Shoutout to the reporter for consistent laughs throughout and the bartender who gave us a heartfelt moment that summarized the theme of the show.

What I didn't like

There were some mics issues during the opening number that caused us to miss some establishing dialogue. I also would have liked to see Dead John himself a little more before falling to the ground.

My overall impression

What’s really impressive about Dead John is it’s ability to take material that feels like a feature film and morph it into a stage musical. The cast is does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life and the music keeps your feet tapping from beginning to end. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I can easily see this becoming of a fringe favorite this year!
