About the Project
The Blue Impala Trilogy follows our heroin Patty on the road trips that she took in her family’s 1977 Blue Impala. The play explores the experiences of an immigrant Chinese family in navigating their new home in America and the tender father and daughter relationship that continues to grow, change, inspire through the changes in homeland and decades. The Blue Impala Trilogy has comedy, magical realism and life lessons for all. Is that singer/songwriter Sam Cooke appearing under a rainbow from beyond the grave to sing to our play’s heroine? Watch out for the Bats! They make a stunning appearance in our play. Come enjoy a road trip this summer with all the rest area stops, home made noodle lunches, and words of fatherly (and motherly) wisdom.
