The actors are a joy to witness. They okay their roles to the depth and clarity the play demands.
I also enjoyed how the characters were both human and relatable, yet also something timeless. The linesman felt more like an impartial aspect of existence, yet also strangely comedic. The young man, in all of his expectant energy, was a poignant mirror of the eagerness to meet life, but also the naivete that can cause us to miss its many treasures. The woman didn’t just strike me as a person yearning for love, but was also lady fortune, arriving with a beaming potential to fulfill the prepared, and just as fragile and fickle when spurned. I got a lot out of watching this play. I can connect the dots to my own youth, and the many ways I missed out on love because of my own limited perception of life.
I also liked the production design a lot. It has this feeling of limbo, of purgatory, of the dream state between. It captures the feeling of waiting for opportunity, of waiting for the perfect moment to arrive, only for it to never come, and thus, never feel the cartharsis of arriving.

My overall impression
A story of missed opportunities. Found it to be sorrowful and a sharp portrait of how our expectations can cloud our ability to see the opportunities in front of us-especially regarding matters of love. A melancholic performance, with some surreal and light hearted moments.
