What I liked
Knowing the writer, there were moments where I could absolutely hear the dialogue in her voice, and I just love when authorship comes through like that. Also really great grounded performances from Lex and Jose; they struck a great tonal balance with something that could have either been overly silly or overly depressing.
What I didn't like
There were like two moments where it was tough to hear the actors, really my only note. One I remember being late in the series where (spoilers) his sister died? Hope I didn’t miss plot info there
My overall impression
The writing was fantastic, particularly in its restraint— knowing when to have some really poignant moments of silence, absolutely nailed by these actors’ chemistry with each other.
