What I liked

These two actors are simply fantastic. Their performances deeply humanize the characters. One character has to age entire decades throughout the show and he really shows this in his body and line delivery.

The story genuinely surprised me. I thought I knew how it was going to go and especially how it was going to end, but this felt like it’s own take entirely. Big props to the writer for some really touching dialogue that I will be thinking about for a long time.

What I didn't like

Early on, I felt the character’s lines read a bit harsh, almost reading more like frenemies than best friends. Perhaps with some more lighthearted choices at the top of show, this could be read as more humorous than biting. This was really only in the first scene, the relationship was very clear in the rest of the show but it was my first impression of these two characters.

My overall impression

Heartfelt, human, and funny. Deeply enjoyable performances between the actors. The story was surprising and refreshing. Beautiful set and captivating transition music helped me live in the world with them. A must-see for sure.
