What I liked
The jokes and critiques of the vertical industry were spot on
Tackling the sensitive topic of racism within the vertical industry is brave and important to talk about
The apple box “soap box” reference was super smart and the substance of each monologue was really impactful
The sizzle reel/teaser/promo vignettes for the fictional verticals featuring Brock were hilarious and my favorite part!
The Chinese production company POV scenes has me wanting a spinoff story of their experiences/interactions with their bosses/executives!
What I didn't like
I was a little confused when the actor playing Brock in the first scene/vignette then right away played a bodyguard at the beginning. It wasn’t clear that he wasn’t Brock so I was expecting the story to be about Brock being “demoted” or something. The resolution also had me pondering “white savior”-ism. But overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this extremely relevant story!
My overall impression
A smart, funny, and very timely topic that’ll resonate with any working actor in this day and age!
