While Dara’s show is about the death of her mother, it’s also about the way that loss reverberates and morphs through time as new information comes to light, as wisdom arrives, and as we ourselves change.
Dara does an amazing job of doling out this information for the audience, continually delivering surprises for us in a story we think we know, creating an experience for us that’s very in-the-moment, but not unbearable. In fact, it’s somehow delightful!
Because of Dara’s professional work with people going through grief and her masterful storytelling chops, she’s uniquely qualified to give us this experience of how grief scrambles our brains in the weirdest ways and how unexpected people become heroes in our lives. Brava!!

My overall impression
A wise, funny, and moving meditation on the complexity of grief, time, family, and self told by an endlessly endearing performer.
