I liked the simplicity of the set and how the characters came in and used that simplicity to create a window into their world. I also liked how as the nature of their business relationships got more complicated the stage got messier.
What I didn't like
I don’t really have any complaints. As there were two actors who played multiple parts, it would sometimes take a second to realize they were now a different character, but the subtle wardrobe changes and different performance approaches to those different characters helped me catch on fairly quickly.
My overall impression
Really funny and enjoyable play that gave an interesting overview of the origins of Marvel Comics. Although the play does not strictly adhere to historical fact it has a lot of fun with its interpretation and uses those liberties to fuel the humor without compromising the poignancy of the experience. Great acting all around and particularly from ‘Stan Lee.’ Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
