The writing is wonderful. The play moves along at a good pace, and the dual narration from Jack Kirby and Stan Lee serves to welcome us into a story that was familiar to me, and delves deep into all the minutiae and cracks. Ultimately about creative partnership and the push/pull between the creative and the corporate, this is an important one for anyone in the collaborative arts to see, and that I think will have relevance for a wider audience due to Marvel’s current ubiquity. The performances were extremely strong, dare I say spot-on. The play serves as both a tribute to the two artists who created the most iconic figures of modern mythology (and the people around them) as well as a warning to the creative among us.
What I didn't like
Nothing major, and nothing that won’t be worked out in future performances. A few line flubs here and there, covered professionally.
My overall impression
One of the greatest team-ups in comics history is given new life onstage!
