The acting was stunning, the writing was some of the best I’ve experienced in a long time (I’ve been a theatremaker for over 20 years). And it shows all you can do with little resources: lights, sound, pvc pipe. Long live theatre! Long live this company and I am looking forward to seeing what lies ahead for this production.
What I didn't like
Though I understand the point of it dramaturgically, I don’t think you need the heterosexual, romantic encounter as a framework for humanity. The only moments I found myself tuning out were when they were talking about their past affair/relationship. I think you can achieve the same by making it about anything else.
My overall impression
Wow. It’s hard to do…but I was immediately immersed in the world of this show. To the point that any street traffic I heard I thought was purposefully part of the play.
