Where to begin? The world was brought to life thanks to the two powerhouse actors and the imaginative set. What existed were a series of simple pipes fitted together along with a small handful of props. What we saw, however, was a spacecraft years beyond anything that could exist today, complete with levers, flashing buttons, compartments, and sci-fi accoutrements.
For me, the script was the bedrock upon where all other elements found secure footing. It provided the necessary means of world-building sci-fi and walked that fine line of respecting the audience’s intelligence while not being too heady or esoteric. But wow, the relationship between the two characters was phenomenal and the true crux of the story. Strip the futuristic elements aside and you have a scenario that’s universal, timeless, and relatable. It’s not difficult to find something of ourselves in either character.
So yeah, if it’s not obvious, I highly recommend this show.

My overall impression
I tell people that I saw a show about a complicated relationship on a spacecraft and I can feel the eyes roll. I then grab them by the shoulders, shake them furiously, and demand that they see this play. Easily one of my Fringe favorites.
