I am unfamiliar with the modeling world, and I appreciated the play’s insights into what it can be like on the inside of it.
Marly Phillips Nicol stood out as Justin. His performance felt like a grounding force in the show, especially when the overall tone could vary widely.
What I didn't like
If this show is ever remounted, it could benefit by honing in on one of the many conflicts present in this iteration. Does the central problem revolve around the mother/daughter relationship? Is it the conflict between the friends/roommates? Is it the thorny question of who has money, how they got it, and how they use it?
My overall impression
Ok, Model! introduces a lot plot threads that each could warrant a play of its own. It’s an intriguing premise with a lot of potential.
