What I liked

The timeless ghost story was told in a fresh and engaging way. The acting was skillful – Carli is charming, funny and grounded – with eyes that say it all. All the actors did a wonderful job. The songs were well-written and melodic – the were a seamless, meaningful part of the entire production. Plus, I laughed a lot!

My overall impression

THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS won my heart (yes, I used a cringe pun) – but I loved it. I didn’t know what to expect from the story or the characters, so I was completely along for the humorous, dark and touching ride. The music wove through the narrative in a beautiful way. Great play!
