What I liked

Through her performance, writing, directing, and lyricism, Carli Wright has infused this genre tale with an incredibly personal story. By crafting such an idiosyncratic show, not only do the themes resonate after the show ends, but you’ll be wondering where you can listen to the songs again and again. The ensemble is equally talented conveying humor, fright, and a devilish joy that, alongside impressive make-up and lighting, create a more than memorable production.

What I didn't like

I’m not submitting to your tyranny of these questions. – Tracy Letts, 2026

My overall impression

“The House Always Wins” is a kooky and spooky ghost story that upends what a haunted house could be. Through comedy, songs, and even a PowerPoint, the show takes the audience through a journey of curses and heartbreak, but with a light enough tone that there’s still room for laughter.
