What I liked
Not only did it include the themes of the original play, but it also incorporated existentialism in relation to AI – what does it mean to suffer for art when a machine will spit out a collective data analysis of “humanity” for you? Speaking of, the machine’s story pitch was HILARIOUS! I could not stop laughing. All the actors were deeply invested and wonderful in their character portrayals. Timing was impeccable.
What I didn't like
While the physical comedy was great, especially with the AI and its handler, I would have liked to see more clowning between the two main characters.
My overall impression
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a parody of Waiting for Godot, and this did not disappoint. Quite the opposite, it was funny, smart, relevant, and at times surpassed the original (don’t get mad, Beckett!) in its beautiful message: the process of creating art is as, if not more important than the “product” itself. The best show to end my Hollywood Fringe 2026 experience!
