What I liked
This was funny!
It was even more impressive as it was a table read with just a screen showing the various scenes and not really acted out at all.
The interactions between the cast was funny and Woody’s dad had some great and funny songs.
There was a bit of a surprise reveal at the end that was REALLY nice and heartfelt – that should be the show “outro” card with credits on it
Oh…and I now know that Woody hates Chinese school!
What I didn't like
Only things I might update would be
- They called each other egg but the insult might not be obvious to non-asians or general audience (white on the outside, yellow on the inside…I assume)
- Also – it was FUNNY that Woody’s character played a sushi chef and there was shame by playing a Japanese person….he threw in a reference to Japanese war crimes but that was a LONG time ago now….maybe a little more writing/update there
