so fast paced sometimes I wanted it to go a little slower or have pauses so I could take it all in
My overall impression
From the moment Cara stepped on stage to "my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. . . " the audience was with her. Cara helps us understand what it’s like being a woman in a larger body and manages to poke fun at herself with photos and jokes without sliding into a kind of self-deprecation that would undermine her very triumphant message. Not an easy thing to do. I thought this show was well put together and creative from the storytelling to the audience participation, to the Fat Girl Bingo, to the slideshow with pithy jokes. Yes, she shows us the receipts, but she reminds us “non-consensual dick picks are harassment and illegal so I’m gonna show em . . . let’s have some fun!” Through the humor and vulnerability Cara brings us into a place of deeper understanding and empathy. It’s raunchy and it’s also deep. (That’s what she said;) All jokes aside, well done, Cara!
