In this experimental one person show, self-proclaimed “ugly kid” Lorena Russi shepherds audiences through their prudish cumming of age story. With piano accompaniment (think: cruise ship host meets elevator muzac), this gold star lesbian regales audiences of their humble closeted beginnings on NYC soccer teams, a tumultuous gay divorce, and a liberating sexual renaissance. Over the course of this semi-immersive hour, both Russi and the audience will grapple with gender, embrace ugliness and unpack what it takes to love yourself enough to come off the proverbial bench
