The rats. I wanted more of this story, more of this metaphor and how it affects our storyteller. I liked the video of an Instagram feed and the multiple characters coming at our protagonist.
What I didn't like
I’m not sure. I would like more of the rat metaphor unpacked because she does such a beautiful job setting it up for the audience.
My overall impression
Christine Dickinson’s Mother is a solo piece of theater that addresses grief, the rat race of our society and her relationship with her mother. I admire her creative approach to using social media profiles and reels to demonstrate the pressures and expectation of society. Go see Mother if you want to see a powerful female solo show.
