What I liked
From the beginning, this play sets the tone in a brilliant way. The production design and lighting tell the story in one of the best ways I’ve seen at Fringe so far this year. The acting was grounded and solid. I really felt like I was experiencing surveillance in real time.
What I didn't like
Not knowing a lot about how the FBI surveils people, I got a bit lost at times, i.e. I didn’t always understand the rules of the world. There were times when I couldn’t hear the dialogue as well, so a few conflicts were not as clear. The part that was clear, though, was great!
My overall impression
This play was wonderful in its ability to get you to experience what it must be like to secretly record a public figure. The tone and dynamics between characters came alive in this piece. It made me immediately want to learn more about Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination! Get there early to read the very creative program.
