Lighting, moment-to-moment work, the connections between pairs of characters, THERADIO, great use of video projection, and terrific sound design!
What I didn't like
I hugely appreciated the incredibly specific Method work with the whole cast, but I wanted a bit more conflict and tension within the Black Bag squad. The outcome is dramatic irony, so the tension needs to come from the character’s relationships and I wanted more palpable stakes there.
My overall impression
Great show! A verite-style production where the silence is the point and moment-to-moment work is incredibly crafted and personal. Levatino’s always-wonderful use of practical lighting adds just the right amount of noir while the attention to era-specific props really helped to solidify the mood.
