The two women had a nice chemistry, and I liked seeing the twist in story play out even though we knew it was coming.
What I didn't like
I appreciated the ICE moment, as it was relevant and timely, and it added a touching moment where she was able to say, “my daughter.”
Though the scene break made that section feel somewhat disconnected. Perhaps the two scenes could flow together more seamlessly without the interruption.
My overall impression
The show was thoughtful and heartfelt, and explored complex questions about culture, past trauma and what family means. Both actors deliver sincere performances, you could feel the tension, and the story leaves plenty to think about afterward. I’d love to see this project continue to grow and evolve, it has a strong foundation.
