Wonderful and beautiful costuming and staging that helped evoke the performance’s fantastical elements! Also, I loved the way it told different stories and rotated the cast as those stories transitioned back and forth. It made Trickster feel even more like a larger folktale legend across time than just a singular character.
What I didn't like
I’m not sure if you made it clear that these stories were based/inspired by real world myths because I could’ve just missed that information, but I didn’t realize that until much later and I think it would be nice to have a little more context about their origins either before or after the play if possible. Also, this might be more of a me thing, but MOREANIMALPUPPETSPLZ!!!
My overall impression
Silly, mythic, and fantastic! I loved all of the stories and the way they were blended together with humor, heart, and sometimes even a bit of horror. Every cast member played a number of characters and brought rich uniqueness to each of the various personalities they were portraying.
