What I liked
This clown is a natural entertainer. I did not expect nearly the amount of physical humor that he brought, let alone the sharp wit when he was on the spot. He makes it look easy, when it is far from it.
The story of Oedipus and Eurydice was a wonderful surprise, plus the finale had me (and the entire crowd) in an uproar—I won’t spoil it here.
What I didn't like
There were a couple empty seats in the front for the first few minutes of the show. In a perfect world, people would be brawling for those seats before the lights came up. All hail Doofus!
My overall impression
Doofus was a piece of art. In the age of AI, there is nothing more refreshing or authentic than an interactive clown act that combines audience engagement and hilarious storytelling. Not to mention its inherent critique of landlords, who need to be lampooned far more often in American culture.
