Cole made a multi-dimensional character who is funny in all of their modes. It was a very physical show too and for some reason, the wardrobe alone had me laughing. It was hard to have a straight face watching the show.
What I didn't like
I think I expected a skewering of the idea of landlords, just based on the initial premise. Not that this show needed to say more, but I think the opportunity was there. It still literally took a landlord and named them Doofus, but I think there’s one more macro level to address to make the show feel like it had a stronger takeaway. But what we got was still a delight.
My overall impression
Doofus was a wild, silly time in the best of ways. Cole has a sense of joy in how they approach every beat of this show, and it was genuine joy the entire time.
