My overall impression
The Spolin Players are a dynamic, diverse, and hilarious group. You might expect that much. But, what sets them apart is their authenticity. They fully commit to the unscripted and the “now”. There is nothing canned here. The energy is electric. Their work brings that rare feeling one gets when seeing a performance that is truly alive and on the edge. These are intuitive and gifted artists who know how to take risks onstage. They are alive and present to the moment-to-moment uncertainty of each scene, so much so, that the audience’s laughter is experienced as a wonderful surprise, a gift. The Players skillfully surrender and deliver exciting, intelligent, beautiful and poignant comedy.
