Lisa Cole has done what every person should do, though few of us have the courage or skill to do publicly. Miss Cole takes us on a jaw-dropping journey of true stories that have shaped the person she is today. She has chosen to tell her story in the vehicle of leaving a post-death video for her family and friends (hence the title), and this works well, but the substance comes from the baring of the soul in telling the stories between "video takes". Miss Cole's experiences appear to have shaped her much differently than they would many others. In a brief interview after the show, she explained that the story she wrote, or more accurately the presentation of the story she wrote, was a comedy. This shocked me as much as the life-experienc... full review

I've seen my share of plays and shows in this town and I usually can't wait for them to end. But in this case, it was great to see Lisa put herself out there in such way that kept me laughing, intrigued, and entertained the entire time. Her fun personality crosses right over into her characters and makes one wonder why she isn't working more in this industry. A pure gem. A read one review that whined about certain things in the story line that just wasn't for him. That's fine and dandy - we're all different and have different tastes. But if something is delivered in an entertaining and clever way, no matter how eclectic it may be, I chalk that up for talent and good writing. ... full review

Lisa Cole is an engaging writer/actress. Her stories were relatable, especially in considering my creative Los Angeles friends. She showed a lot of range and the 45-minute solo performance was impressive. Thanks for a good time... full review

A fantastic performance. Lisa is dynamic! She adeptly moves from pain to humor to reflection in her piece, and this auto-biographical one-woman show admirably never feels indulgent. She remains engaging throughout, charming, witty, likable while managing to avoid appearing desperate or overeager. There are no shortage of anecdotes and tragedy in her life (lucky for us, sucks for her!) The structure of the show could have been strengthened a bit to provide a more cohesive narrative, but that doesn't stop the show from being a funny, moving delight. Highly recommended.... full review

There is no getting around that Lisa Cole is immensely likeable. Perhaps you'd expect a tale of a Midwest (Detroit area) upbringing and accompanying remnants of a regional twang to off-put, but the groundedness of her performance and sincere emotional notes makes for fully formed characters as opposed to caricature. I can see this 40 minutes easily being fleshed out further in segments for more seamless transitions, and simply for just more information about such a unique life journey. I definitely wanted more Lisa Cole when the all-too-brief 40 minutes was up.... full review

There are a lot of things I could say about this play, and this performance. I have written reviews on many things: movies, art, food, and travel, and I have always leaned towards reviews that are practical for the reader (you). With that in mind, I will offer simply this: I want to see this show AGAIN. I want to THINK about the life that is presented in honesty and humor and humility and joy, AGAIN! I want to feel it, and CELEBRATE IT as well, because it is inspiring! I want to see THIS show, again. Lisa Cole's performance is enthralling. A one woman show with laughter, tears (yours), and fear,... the full range of a human life; authentic. If you do not connect with this performance, and this character, then I recomm... full review

First, may I just say WOWWWW! I took 5 friends with me to see this show and none of us were disappointed. Lisa's story was riveting from the start. Honestly, I wanted to hear more of the "story behind the story" on several parts because the subjects were so funny and or interesting. My only regret is that I didn't go to any of the earlier shows because I would've wanted to come back and see a few more times. Good job, Lisa and crew. Y'all did a fantastic job!... full review
