My overall impression
I was not really loving this show. I am not easily offended- however I did grow up in the south- and they managed to capture every possible southern stereotype in some very strong, and a few weak performances.
I give them kudos for fearless execution- everybody gave themselves fully to these characters (not that there is really any depth within these characters) and the opening announcement was cleverly executed and for me the highlight of the show.
Over all- the script is sloppy at best. There is hardly any plot- other than to call people names, fart, and smash beer cans on your forehead, and be as trashy as humanly possible. Mix the above with a modicum of intrigue so it’s not a Jerry Springer episode and bam- we have theatre gold. Right?
But . . . if you enjoy shows like Jerry Springer, Jackass, or Dumb and Dumber then you will probably enjoy this. If your looking for brainless comedy, non stop chaos, and raunch humor, you will probably enjoy this. If your a 13 year old boy- you will probably enjoy this.
I prefer my comedy to have wit. I’d be fine with the raunch even- if there was something at all smart about it. But alas- this was not the show for me.
