My overall impression
A friend said we should go see this one man play. I had never heard of Steve Mize, but the premise of a guy taking on the IRS sounded intriguing, if not downright maddening, so I went.
The combination of a hot theater, (temperature-wise ) and a somewhat slow start had me questioning my decision to come to the show. And there was no way in this little theater to sneak out. So I’m thinking I’m stuck here for an hour.
But, then, I start getting into the story. And I realize this guy Steve is a seriously good actor. Real good. And bam, I am hooked.
Turned out to be a terrific one man show. I’m not giving anything away, but when Steve Mize realizes something about himself as he is talking to the IRS guy, it’s a very powerful, very touching moment. And that’s all I want when I go to a show.
