My overall impression

I love that 3 of a Kind does original works and three of them for the price of one ticket is definitely a bonus.

As all relationships have awkward pauses, so did these plays, but in very different ways.

The first play is about the start of a relationship. Finding your way through those first awkward steps in getting to know one another can be a challenge with someone you’ve only just met. Especially when those first moments are also your last.

The second play examines the awkward pauses found in a stagnant relationship as a married couple sharing a park bench in winter make an attempt at changing things up by engaging in some public fornication. Both endearing and awkward, it was hilarious and I found myself seeing reflections of my own relationship in the moments shared by the couple.

The third was full of the awkward pauses of a dying relationship, ending with the demise of the relationship altogether. A married couple believing they are happy, only to realize over the course of the play just how different they have become. As he pulls further from her, her fears cause her to pull him closer until she realizes she has no other option than to just let him go.

Three very different original works that were both entertaining and thought provoking. Definitely worth the price of admission!
