What I liked
I was truly impressed with how the designers transformed ordinary materials into iconic outfits, from avant-garde styles to period costumes free top games, perfectly reflecting the free-spirited essence of Hollywood Fringe.
What I didn't like
Some costumes look very glamorous, but the audience might not fully understand their meaning without having seen the original performance. It would be better to have a small screen or a brief introduction to the character and the spirit of the play before each performance.
My overall impression
This is an ambitious and highly celebratory project. Typically, at independent theater festivals like the Hollywood Fringe, the script and acting steal the spotlight, sometimes relegated costumes to a secondary element. However, this project reversed this by placing costume design at the center. It’s not just a fashion show, but a vibrant exhibition of aesthetic thinking and the ability of independent artists to utilize limited budgets to create powerful visual effects on stage.
