We were glad we had a chance to see such a great show! Incredibly moving, thoughtful, heart-wrenching, but hopeful. Searching for Robert Hennessey showcases heart, vulnerability and many years of perseverance. Even if the story is not the same as one’s own, many aspects are relatable and may even be of help to others.
What I didn't like
We attempted to attend the first performance but were turned away at the door arriving a few minutes after the show began. It was incredibly inconvenient and inconsiderate not to be let inside so close to the start. Heavy traffic, closed streets and limited parking options due to the pride parade prevented any early arrival. To be turned away at the door after already purchasing tickets, long commuting and a hike for parking, was a great disappointment. To also be refused to at least wait inside the lobby so we could hear the performance did not entice us into spending additional money to attend other Fringe performances. Concessions should have been made for the extreme circumstances of that particular day.
My overall impression
The show will appeal to lots of people no matter their background.
