More Joy: A Mumoir
Suzannah’s brilliant and hilarious solo show had me enthralled start to finish! Her visceral depictions of early motherhood, her surprisingly accurate impressions of certain private parts (ahem) and her honest, playful warnings to her children’s teachers in the audience that evening made me laugh AND cry as I recalled my own experience as a new mom. I wish Suz was in my mom-group all those years ago…she seems fun, postpartum depression be gone! From her depiction of inner critic, Babs to her stronghold of other dead-on characters(some I’m sure I’ve met in the greater Los Angeles area) I felt a palpable, almost chemical flashback to my own experience as a young mom. Go see it now before it’s too late!
